In support of the professional development of its members, PELLTA is offering the PELLTA Professional Development Grant for members to present at national and international conferences in Malaysia or abroad. A total amount of RM5,000 is allocated for the professional development grant each year. This grant allocation may be reviewed annually by the PELLTA committee.
Aims
The PELLTA Professional Grant aims to encourage PELLTA members to share their knowledge, expertise and experience with fellow ELT practitioners by providing a subsidy towards the cost of presenting at national and international conferences.
Eligibility
All members in good standing (paid annual membership fees) who fulfill the following criteria are eligible.
minimum 5 years PELLTA membership
at least 50% attendance at PELLTA events for the year prior to application

Application Process
Each recipient is eligible for a grant up to a maximum of RM1,000.00 to attend a national or international conference in Malaysia or abroad as a presenter.
The topic of presentation must be ELT-related.
Applications for the grant based on past conference presentations will not be considered.
The grant is to be used on the recipient's conference fees, accommodation, transportation expenses only.
All claims, supported by receipts, must be submitted to PELLTA within 1 month upon completion of the conference.
All grant recipients will conduct a workshop/webinar for PELLTA within a year upon completion of the conference.
Award of the grant is subject to the approval of the PELLTA Professional Development Grant committee and the decision is final.
Grant recipients may reapply after 3 years of receiving the previous grant.
Grant applications must be submitted to PELLTA at least 1 month prior to conference. Each year, the deadline for the final grant application is 31 October with final claim submission by 30 November.

Email the completed application form & conference acceptance letter to pelltapenang@gmail.com. The committee accepts grant applications starting 1 January until 31 October each year.

It is compulsory to complete Section A : Personal Information and Section B : Conference Details.
Section C: choose the relevant expenses incurred for the conference.
Car mileage: Fill in the total distance from place of residence to the conference venue. Toll charges can be claimed with toll receipts/statement.
Flight: Reimbursement will be for economy class tickets only. Local ground transportation to and from the airport can also be claimed with attached receipts.
Accommodation: Claims can be made on the total number of nights stayed in a hotel during the conference. Reimbursement amount for accommodation is capped at RM300 per night.
